Privacy Policy
Applies to: ClipVault – Clipboard Manager & History (browser extension)
Last updated: October 23, 2026
The short version: ClipVault works 100% offline. Your clipboard history is stored only in your own browser and never leaves your device. We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share any of your data. There is nothing to track.
1. What we collect
Nothing. ClipVault has no analytics, no telemetry, no advertising SDKs, and no remote servers. The extension makes no network requests of any kind.
2. Where your data is stored
All clipboard history you save with ClipVault is stored locally in your browser's IndexedDB database on your own computer. It is never uploaded anywhere. You can delete it at any time from the extension's settings, or by uninstalling the extension (which removes the local database).
3. Permissions and why they are needed
- storage / unlimitedStorage — to save your clipboard history and preferences locally on your device.
- clipboardWrite — so you can put a saved clip back onto the clipboard with one click. ClipVault never reads your clipboard automatically or in the background.
- activeTab — used only while you interact with the extension popup, to insert a chosen clip into the input field of the current tab.
- Content script on all sites — required to detect copy events so clips can be saved automatically. It only listens for copy events and does not read, modify, or transmit page content.
4. Third parties
We do not share data with third parties because we do not have any data to share.
5. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
